"For me and Greece it was a great pleasure to be here in Italy at a conference of world ministers organized by my dear friend, the Italian Minister of Agriculture, Francesco Lollobrigida. The organization of this event is very successful, absolutely indispensable and useful, in collaboration with the International Organization of Wine and Vine and I remember that Greece is one of the seven countries that founded this organization and which is celebrating its centenary".

Thus at AGRICOLAE Eleftherios Avgenakis, Minister of Rural Development and Food, on the sidelines of the Wine Ministerial Meeting organized by Masaf at the Ca' del Bosco winery with the involvement of 31 producing countries and the OIV.
"We are here today to propose opinions, initiatives, exchange know-how, strategies, but above all to reiterate our belief that wine and vines are a very important part of the agricultural production of our countries and our cooperation is fundamental.
The market is large, but the most important thing is the collaboration between countries, to exchange strategies, know-how, valorizing a product as much as possible, a product of our land, which has a very long history.

I am happy to be in a unique place with extraordinary facilities, with unique cultures, but above all with people who respect what our land, our place of origin, produces. And of course we couldn't help but discuss the climate crisis, the consequences that are being felt especially in the Mediterranean countries.
And for this reason I was happy to be able to talk about it with various colleagues, such as the Minister of Cyprus, the Minister of Spain, the Minister of Italy, countries that are from the south of Europe, that come from the Mediterranean, that have characteristics in common.
We were allowed to talk about the common problems that concern us and on which we must act jointly, highlighting them at European level: one of these is the change necessary for the future CAP 2023-2027.
This is an issue that has greatly worried European farmers, following the recent mobilizations. As you have seen, after all, the climate crisis does not look at borders, like the wine problems. We are here to understand that together we must move very quickly, lightning fast to protect the planet and everything that nature produces for us."
